COVID-19 Update from the Travel Scientists Headquarters

First things first: We hope, that wherever you are, you, your family and loved ones are doing fine and that you have everything you need.

With a heavy heart, we have decided to cancel the Rickshaw Challenge Malabar Rampage in April as well as to postpone the Central Asia Rally to June 2021. Of course all sign-ups for the two trips in 2020 remain valid for next year’s events.

We are very disappointed, since we consider both to be among our best trips, but for the safety of our participants and staff as well due to the current worldwide border closings it is the only responsible decision we could make. For any further rallies we are continuously monitoring the situation and will keep you updated.

By now half of the world is in lockdown, and where no lockdown is enforced yet many will have opted for self-isolation. It is a difficult situation for all of us – be it because we are locked up all by ourselves 24/7 without any significant social contacts or because we simply can’t escape our family who is just enthusiastically planning the 10th monopoly evening in a row.

It is important to keep one’s spirit up in times like this. We do it by planning and looking forward to all the adventures we will have with you, once the world is back to “normal”.

If you also need something to look forward to, check out our events later this year:

The Grand Moroccan Escapade (October 10-18, 2020) is an exciting desert adventure which takes you from magical Marrakesh right to the edge of the Sahara and back again.

The Rickshaw Challenge Classic Run  (December 28, 2020 – January 6, 2021) is a unique way to welcome the New Year driving a rickshaw through India.

And the good thing about the postponement of the Central Asia Rally 2021 (May 30 – June 12, 2021)? If you were still undecided to take on an extreme adventurel like this, you’ve just won a whole year to prepare! The remaining spots will fill up fast though, so don’t wait too long to sign up.

If you have any questions or concerns, just shoot us a message to [email protected].

For now let’s stay home as much as we can and travel through books, exotic food and through our imagination in the hope that soon the borders of the world will be open again!

Keep calm, stay home and wash your hands…

… and see you at the starting line!
